With a background as a former Maiko and Geiko, she married into the Kurochiku family, which owns cultural buildings including the Noh stage. She is now dedicated to preserving and promoting the historical value of traditional Kyoto culture, such as the tea ceremony, both within Japan and internationally. In these plans, she provides careful explanations of the tea ceremony gestures and the background of Maiko culture, making it easy for first-time participants to understand.
